It all started with a simple observation – the makhana we grew up eating in our Bihar home was nothing like what we found in Delhi markets. The freshness, the crispiness, the authentic taste – it was all missing.

With roots in Saharsa, Bihar, and a home in Delhi, we saw an opportunity to bridge this gap. We started visiting the makhana-producing regions of Bihar – Darbhanga, Saharsa, and surrounding areas – to understand the process and connect with farmers directly.

What we discovered was both inspiring and concerning. The farmers were producing incredible quality makhana, but multiple middlemen were taking their share, leaving farmers with little and customers paying more for lesser quality.

Ghar Se Makhana was born from this realization. We cut out the middlemen, source directly from farmers, and bring you the freshest, most authentic makhana while ensuring farmers get fair prices for their hard work.
